International Guest Lecture “Density & Transit; Understanding Hongkong’s Vertical Compact City”
“Enriching Architecture and Urban Knowledge, Trisakti University welcomes International Guest Lecturer”
The Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Trisakti University in collaboration with Thammasat Design School held an international public lecture with Dr. Adrian Lo, a Director of Urban Design & Development International and also a lecturer. He presented 2 main topics, namely “International Multidisciplinary Summer School: Systematic Design for Health” and Density & Transit: Understanding Hong Kong’s Vertical Compact City” with moderator Akhlish Diinal Aziiz, S.T., M.T., lecturer in Architecture FTSP Usakti. This public lecture was held on February 27, 2024 at the Auditorium Ged. C.
This public lecture was opened by the dean of FTSP Usakti, Dr. Ir. A. Hadi Prabowo, M.T., he said that this International Guest Lecture event was part of Trisakti University’s efforts to continue to improve the quality of education and research in the field of architecture. “We are very grateful to the speakers who have shared their knowledge and experience with us. Hopefully this event can provide new inspiration for our students and teaching staff”. The event was attended by students and teaching staff from the Department of Architecture, Trisakti University.
Through the presentations, we will gain a better understanding of how harmonious integration of various urban elements can create a sustainable and dynamic environment. In addition to how Hong Kong has managed to overcome the constraints of limited land with innovative and well-planned approaches.
The public lecture provided a platform for the exchange of ideas in urban planning and development. Participants actively engaged in discussions on the challenges and opportunities associated with replicating aspects of the Hong Kong model in other cities. The event underscored the importance of holistic planning strategies that prioritize connectivity, accessibility and environmental sustainability.
